Anime Character Ambassadors for Tokyo Olympics 2020

Remember the announcement video of the Tokyo Olympics with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the closing ceremony of the Rio Games (in August 21, 2016) - “cosplaying” as “Super Mario”? A new announcement sees Son Goku of “Dragonball Z”, with “Naruto” of “Naruto Shippuden”, “Luffy” from “One Piece”, “Crayon Shin Chan”, “Pretty Guardian”, “Sailor Moon”, “Yo-Kai Watch” and “Astroboy” as co-ambassadors!

These are not the “Game Mascots” tho, as they are still being deliberated on … I particularly appreciate the embracing of these fictional characters as an aspect of “Japanese Culture”, perhaps also providing a connection to the “younger” set … AND also makes for good merchandising, methinks!
