HG_Alphonse_170223_2 copy

An closer-look at the armoured “Alphonse Elric” has since been revealed on the official website of the FULL METAL ALCHEMIST live-action feature film, to go with his earlier full-body look (and even earlier view of his torso alongside his brother Edward Elric - played by Ryosuke Yamada), having both Elric-brothers ready to kick transmutated-butt on the silver screens!

WHO-IS: Alphonse Elric (アルフォンス・エルリック, Arufonsu Erurikku) is the deuteragonist of the Fullmetal Alchemist series. The younger brother of Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist, Al is also a victim of the failed Human Transmutation experiment in which Ed lost his right arm and left leg. Having had his entire physical being taken away from him in the aftermath of the tragedy, Alphonse exists solely as a soul alchemically bound to a large suit of steel armor. Now, Al travels with his brother in search of a legendary Philosopher's Stone, an item with the power to restore their bodies to normal." (fma.wikia.com)

One Punch Man’s GENOS in 1/6 by threezero Revealed @ Wonder Festival 2017 [Winter]

With his silhouette teased at Toy Soul 2016, revealed at the recent Sunday’s Wonder Festival 2017 was the 1/6th-scaled GENOS from Threezero - from the One Punch Man anime/maga! No word on WHEN “Genos” will be joining his “sensei” Saitama on your toy-display shelves, but it looks to be “soon” (tentative March release, actually :p), as the advertising banner image for Genos has been unleashed post-WFW just (see image below)!

I personally am hella excited, as threezero does exceedingly well with mecha/robot-styled sculpts, and the cyborg-Genos would be a perfect “fit” to their catalog, methinks! Now all he needs is an additional “morphed” blaster-arm accessory! LOL

(*And NO, I do not get tired of reposting this, thanks! LOL)

Documentaries about Akihabara

DOCUMENTARY DESCRIPTION: ”Akihabara is a neighborhood of Tokyo, Japan known as “Electric Town” for its rows of one-meter wide discount computer and electronics stores. In more recent years Akihabara has evolved into a full-blown Mecca for computer enthusiasts anime and manga fans doll or “figure” collectors video gamers and “Otaku” of all kinds.

Because Akihabara caters to interests outside of mainstream Japanese society it captivates an entire subculture of devotees.

Join us as we peruse the shops streets and Maid Cafes to present an engrossing day in the life view of Akihabara and focus on the unique people who are passionately plugged into this town.”

The above video documentary titled “Akihabara Geeks” is dated over a decade old, circa 2005 … and searching thru youtube now, you will be greeted with a heck-load of mini videos and short documentaries … I wonder how the characters in the above video are doing now?

I’ve been fascinated with “Akihabara” since as long as I had been enjoyed anime, toys and products from Japan, which mainstream media has constantly pointed to, to be a hub of all I enjoy, and as my reaction to mainstream media reportage, I am curious if indeed what everything everyone says is “true”, or at the very least, how many percent “true” hahaha

And having not been in Japan myself, I’ll have too depend upon all THESE videos myself hahaha

TOKYO OTAKU MODE: "We bring to you sightseeing info related to Japan’s pop culture. In addition to videos introducing sightseeing locations all over Japan and information on otaku events, from Aug. 1, 2014 to Jan. 15, 2015, we’ll even be holding campaigns to give away hotel discount coupons and original goods!"

Popular Shops In Akihabara Tokyo by TOKYO EYE 2020, in anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

OZZY AWESOME: "If you have ever dreamed about visiting the famous Otaku Center of the World then this Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan tour video is for you! Guaranteed to have something you like! Enjoy!"

ERIC ABROAD: "A must-stop location for anyone who likes video games, or anime culture! Super interesting experience. Best to bring some extra cash if you plan to bring home some good souvenirs because this place can max out your credit card easily if you're not careful!"

“Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale” (120 minutes / TBA)

“The Moment You Fall in Love” (65 minutes / TBA)

“Genocidal Organ” (currently unscheduled as of this post)

Titles I would def be interested in are ”Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen” and “Genocidal Organ” - suddenly remember back jin the day when the annual Singapore Film Fest might screen adult anime titles, which I relished :)

Besides film screenings, folks can expect “exclusive” anime merchandise and mascot appearances. Present your Anime Film Festival movie ticket at ODEX booth at City Square Mall Level 1 Atrium from 10am to 8pm to redeem posters and other goodies on the respective movie merchandise on screening day too (More details here). There’ll also be a “Cosplay Photo Competition” where you can participate and win prizes from ODEX Private Limited.

Looks like City Square Mall (180 Kitchener Road, Singapore) might be an “interesting” place to be this coming weekend!

Kamen Rider FTW!

Seeing the above clip of Facebook, reminded me that I’ve always been more of a Rider-fan, than I have been Power Rangers, or even Ultraman, of the tokusatsu-genre, truth be told! one of my earlier toy dreams was to own one of their “Cyclone” motorbikes! And who could resist RIDER KICK! Which at the height of kung-fu mania in the late-70s, thanks to Bruce Lee and televisions shows such as these (and the Super Sentai etc lol).

Alas thru the years’ I’ve as-yet to procure a Cyclone (it MUST be a 1/6th-scale one or nothing lol), but I’ve had a small select collection of Masked / Kamen Rider figures - which in my youth I had termed “蚂蚁王” (Chinese translated to “Ant King”, because I thought they looked like ANTS with their helmet and feelers LOL), instead of their “grasshopper”-themed aesthetic! Funnily, maybe ti also because I dod not have a chance to see a real-life grasshopper in person (*true story, bro) hahahaha

I was fortunate to snag a couple of larger-sized figures last year, with this snaps a prelude to (eventual) review in the daaaaays to come :)
