Studio Ghibli Anime Film Characters Illustrated by Satsuma Orange

I’d come across the artwork of Munich AKA Satsuma Orange at the weekend Public Garden Consumer Trade Show (Sept 24-15) at Suntec City Conventiona Hall 403, and was first attracted by her line-up of Star Wars characters, then the Studio Ghibli family of characters snagged my heart … THEN I saw the film characters of Wes Anderson!

Shown above is a not so great shot snapped in the event hall itself, while you can scroll down to see MUCH BETTER pics of her Studio Ghibli character fanart, and you can see more of her art and stay connected via satsumaorange.squarespace.com / Facebook / Instagram @thesatsumaorange, and head up her Etsy for merch!

Anime Japanese People Like in Akihabara (Interview) with That Japanese Man Yuta

I really like this video, and have always been interested to see/know what anime folks out there like! I don;t do forums, so there’s that :p

Having started this particular blog, truthfully was to be able to geekout about anime I watch and enjoy, in an attempt to fill the void in real life, where I have no one else to geekout along with! Sad but true LOL

I don’t even have kakis to go together with at local anime-themed events, like Anime Festival Asia (I’ve not gone for a year already since), because it no longer feels “fun” to be surrounded by likeminded folks … it has become much more isolating :p

Still enjoy me some anime tho HAHAHAHA

Sentai-isqe TVC for Insecticide

THIS is for peeps who have been bitchin' about “too many superheroes in movies” - you know what? Y’all are Too Late! LOL

Supernero-Dom has been coursing thru the better part of Japanese culture’s super-sentai-dom, even a insecticide commercial has the costumed hero x super villain concept down phat!

The Genesis Of My "Anime Watchlist"

My fav episode of #kekkaisensen #bloodblockadebattlefront anime Ep6 #inototaku

A photo posted by TOYSREVIL (@toysrevil) on

In a serendipitous intro and chat, we were regaling about the anime we were both watching, with her mentioning Tokyo Ghoul Season 1 (which I adored), and of my negative response to Series 2 (which I deplored), which then led to me attempting to introduce - and pronounce - "BLOOD BATTLEFRONT BLOCKADE", whose Japanese title I knew as “Kekkai Sensen”.

I doubt if the introduction translated well, (thanks loud thumping Japanese dance music in the other side of the haaaaaaall), but nevertheless I left that conversation intrigued at what anime exactly would I actually introduce to folks?

In the past, someone had asked me to introduce anime that did not feature “giant robots”, and well, it had been something I’d wanted to indulge in, as opposed to me being an expert on such affairs LOL

I dare claim instead to be an “expert” on what anime “I LIKE”, so onwards with the list!… Well, as soon as I can find time to cobble up a list instead of re-watching anime LOL

Featured here are screensnaps of Kekkai Sensen Ep6, my absolute fav of the first season. So much feels…!

No, we didn't "exchanged numbers" or "email addresses" or anything like that - this post is not about that at all! It's just about a shared moment of geeking-out, and in an event like toycon, is exactly what I'd imagine this geek-life to be, not the mass wholesale of products to be bought and owned, IMHO. But that's just me :)
