#watched "Bakemono no Ko" / "The Boy & The Beast" by Mamoru Hosoda

WHAT-IS: "The Boy and the Beast (Japanese: バケモノの子 Hepburn: Bakemono no Ko?) is a 2015 Japanese animated film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda ("Girl Who Lept Thru Time", "Summer Wars" and "Wolf Children"). It was released on July 11, 2015." (Wiki)

SYNOPSIS: "The story is set in the human realm (Tokyo's Shibuya ward) and the bakemono realm ("Shibutenmachi"). In these two worlds which must not intersect, there lives a lonely boy and a lonely bakemono. One day, the boy gets lost in the bakemono world, becomes the disciple of the bakemono Kumatetsu, and is renamed Kyuuta." (myanimelist.net)

#Spoiler - we grow up with Ren/Kyuuta (watch the #animefilm to see WHY the duo names) and I felt so proud of him by the sunrise, which surprised me with having been so invested in this #animefilm unconsciously (I think). Make no mistake this is an action/adventure film, with an emotional heart (even tho I've by snapped any o the action scenes), with a touch of magic and mystical (I'll have the trailer/s on my #inototaku blog along with this IG-review :p). A highly recommended watch for folks looking for something beyond your usual genre niche-anime. I can claim thiso be a "game-changer" (I abhor this term anyway), but it is a affirmation of the power of non-kiddie anime themes that we have adored since experiencing this journey, IMHO. Named "Bakemono No Ko" or "Bakemono No Ka" (#bakemononoko) - Enjoy yourselves with this! :) #watched #anime #theboyandthebeast #inototaku #popcornx
